Closing up Week #5

This week has come to an end with the beginning of the 21st Century Shopping Cart. The first step in the design process was brainstorming at least 10 ideas.
  1. Put a handle on the front of the cart
  2. Put handles on all sides
  3. Make the cart a different shape (oval/circle)
  4. Make the wheels more like the ball of a mouse
  5. The cart has a rack for fruits and fragile items aside from others
  6. Put a scanner on the handle to tally up the cost of items
  7. Make a cart that can roll in all directions
  8. Where the child sits put a small screen that they can watch videos on
  9. Have the cart on a single wheel shaped as a ball
  10. A shopping cart that flies around the store and automatically puts the items you want into the cart
The second step was to sketch out two different possible designs for your groups shopping cart.

Step 3 is to find three facts about a shopping cart
  1. 24,000 children are injured every year by a shopping cart
  2. One of the first shopping carts was made in Oklahoma in 1937
  3. The price is usually between $75-$150
